Are you in the business of serving responsibly?

Do your staff have the confidence to calm a bar row or to deal with a potential drink-driver? If not, the Responsible Serving of Alcohol training workshop is vital to your business.

Over 6000 bar and nightclub owners and staff have attended RSA training to date and since the Strategic Task Force on Alcohol recommended mandatory RSA training attendance numbers have grown rapidly.

The RSA Autumn workshops are currently being rolled out nationwide, incorporating a training module which takes account of changes in the Intoxication Liquor Act 2003. Recent updates to the course include; ‘Handling Difficult Customers’, ‘Monitoring the Bar Area’, ‘Developing a House Policy’, ‘Acceptable Proof of Age’ and a general module on personal liabilities; ‘Who is Responsible?’

Publicans who ignore their legal responsibilities could face fines of up to €2000, mandatory closure orders and possible revocation of their licenses.

Developed by the drinks industry and the department of Health, RSA is a three-hour workshop which includes case study discussion and question and answer session. Each participant will receive a supporting manual to be kept as a reference guide, as well as an RSA Certificate and sample house policy.

If you would like to organise a workshop for your staff or would like general information on local workshops contact Mary Kennedy on 086 1718641 or email rsa@alcohol.ie
