Kilkenny City Cares Project
Kilkenny City Cares is running training courses for late night pubs and publicans in Kilkenny over 3 days 31st of March, 1st of April and 2nd of April. The courses are all full with over 90 participants availing of the Training. The training courses are taking place at Kilkenny Chamber offices.
There will be more courses running over the next two months and it is hoped that all bar staff in Kilkenny will attend and receive their certification. The Training course has been co-ordinated by Mr. Brendan Tracey Chairman of Kilkenny City Vintners and Mary Kennedy from the Responsible Serving of Alcohol Programme.
The Courses cover aspects such as;

Preventing Alcohol Sales to underage persons

Refusing service to intoxicated customers.

Handling Difficult Situations.
Programme attendees will also have;

A greater awareness of the legislation and dangers in regard to drink driving.

A knowledge of alcohol , its effects and the laws pertaining to alcohol.
Kilkenny City Cares includes the following organizations;
Kilkenny Chamber, Kilkenny City Vintners Local Authority, An Garda Síochána, H.S.E. (Health Service Executive), , Festivals, Fáilte Ireland, S.F.A. (Small Firms Association), Kilkenny Tourism and Kilkenny Hotels.
